Spontion Privacy Policy

Spontion is a translation app that shows you how to pronounce a translated phrase using your own language's spelling. It is built so that your text, voice and photos stay on your device.

What Spontion does with your data

• Text you translate is translated on your device with Apple's translation languages. Recent translations and favorites are stored only on your device (and in your iCloud device backups if you have those enabled). You can delete them at any time from Settings inside the app.
• Your voice is used only for dictation and for practice feedback. Speech recognition runs on your device where Apple supports it. Recordings made in Practice mode are analysed and then discarded; they are never uploaded.
• Camera and photos are used only to recognize text you point the camera at or choose from your library. Images are processed on your device and are not stored by Spontion.
• Settings such as your reading language are stored on your device and shared only with Spontion's own widgets and share-sheet extension.

What Spontion does not do

• Spontion has no account, no sign-in and no servers of its own.
• Spontion does not collect analytics, does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across apps or websites.
• Spontion does not sell, share or transmit your data to third parties.

Apple services

Translation, speech recognition, text recognition and on-device intelligence are provided by Apple frameworks running on your device. Apple's own privacy policy applies to those services: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Permissions

Spontion asks for microphone, speech recognition and camera access only when you first use a feature that needs it. You can change these permissions in the iOS Settings app at any time.

Children

Spontion does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date.
